简介：故事发生在中世纪早期，勃艮第人杀死国王，实行统治，乱杀无辜。莱雅是被害死的国王的女儿，逃过勃艮第人的屠刀，从小被一普通妇女收养，生活在风景秀丽的一个小村庄。本人并不知道自己的身世。勃艮第人知道世上有一把宝剑，谁能得到它，会力量无比，战无不胜。于是，他们发疯一样的到处寻找。莱雅是上帝指定的人选，担负着寻找宝剑的任务。 一天，勃艮第人来到莱雅的小村子，几乎将所有人都杀了。莱雅养母临死前告诉莱雅了她的使命，让她去找牧师米米尔，以便知道宝剑在那里。于是，莱雅带上他的妹妹上路了。途中遇到了格罗和他的伙伴，他们的家乡也被勃艮第人霸占而被迫生活在山中。莱雅开始跟格罗习武，以便对付坏人。一段时间后，她们离开了格罗继续完成使命。 勃艮第人头领哈格尔和女巫师一直没有放弃寻找宝剑。女巫师从手下一位士兵身上发现了她要寻找的一条项链，知道了莱雅就是执行上帝使命的人。她使用巫术从得到了宝剑的隐藏地。一个偶然机会，格罗发现莱雅肩上的一个记，他发现莱雅是前国王的女儿。为了不让莱雅冒险，格罗只身来到勃艮第人的城堡，虽然取回了项链，但却为此付出了生命。莱雅拿着项链，找到了宝剑的隐藏地。此时的勃艮第人和女巫师也来到了这里。莱雅用宝剑杀死了女巫师，并对天发誓，要为父亲报仇，为百姓报仇，让大家再次过上平安祥和的日子。
